A new Hometown player with the Montreal Canadiens? Kent Hughes has the opportunity to acquire Anthony Beauvillier
Kent Hughes will inevitably have decisions to make sooner or later, and it could start now by making a trade with the Vancouver Canucks.
Indeed, the British Columbia team is looking for a defenseman, preferably a right-hander, and Anthony Beauvillier would be the trade currency.
The names that have surfaced on the Canadiens' side are Justin Barron and Johnathan Kovacevic. Why would this make sense? Because Beauvillier is a former client of Kent Hughes, and there is already a strong connection between him and Patrik Allvin, the GM of the Canucks.
At 26 years old, Beauvillier has obtained five points in 12 games this season, but he still has great potential. He would make a very good third-line winger for the Canadiens.
