An esteemed former Montreal Canadiens goaltender has signed a new contract and we are happy for Jaroslav Halak

After some great years in Montreal, St. Louis, New York (Islanders), and Boston, Jaroslav Halak has been moving around in recent years, taking opportunities where he can find them. The former Canadien had a stint with the Canucks, then with the Rangers, and he was without a contract for this season.

In an interview this summer, Halak mentioned that he would like to play one last season in the NHL and was ready to sign a contract. At the age of 38, offers have been relatively scarce for him, but he has just received one.

Indeed, Halak has signed a professional tryout contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. With Frederik Andersen's injury, the Canes needed to react.

Halak will have the opportunity to convince the team's management to sign a contract for the rest of the year, which should be a formality for a seasoned professional like him.

IN YOUR OPINION, DID THE CANADIENS MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE IN KEEPING CAREY PRICE?
