Cole Caufield has just made Canadiens fans happy by confirming some great news

One of the major tasks to handle this summer for the Montreal Canadiens is undoubtedly the contract extension of Cole Caufield.

He is on the verge of becoming a restricted free agent, and the fact that the conclusion of an agreement seems to be at a standstill right now is causing a lot of concern among fans.

However, the young Canadiens star offered a very reassuring sign about his future in Montreal during a live Instagram session with his dog Olive.

As a fan asked him to pet his animal if he planned to stay with the Canadiens, the talented young star responded to the request by showing love to his faithful companion.




Considering that Caufield wants to extend his stay with the Canadiens, all that remains is to hope that he agrees to sign a long-term contract for seven to eight years.

Kent Hughes and the Canadiens cannot afford to offer a shorter deal, as the goal will be to maximize savings during his last three or four years of the contract, when the team will be in the thick of the championship race and salary cap will become a significant concern.
