MAJOR: A new formidable duo is forming for the Montreal Canadiens, involving Juraj Slafkovsky and Cole Caufield

In the hockey world, there's increasing talk about duos rather than trios. Yes, there are three forwards on the ice, but inevitably, two players form a chemistry and are accompanied by a third companion.

For the Canadiens, the duo of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield has always been very strong, but Martin St-Louis was forced to separate them to create a spark. However, what's happening now is quite remarkable.

Cole Caufield is developing a beautiful chemistry with Juraj Slafkovsky. The two connect well on the ice, and they're having a lot of fun playing together.

"Juraj creates a lot of space for me on the ice with his imposing physique and good forechecking. I always talk to him after our shifts, and I appreciate playing a mentor role for him. I'll do whatever it takes to help him establish himself in the NHL." - Cole Caufield

For Slafkovsky, the sentiment is much simpler but equally powerful.

"Cole, you pass him the puck, and he creates a scoring chance. He's so fast and talented. It's a joy to play with him." - Juraj Slafkovsky

Considering that Kirby Dach and Slaf already have good chemistry, and Cole does too, it's hard to overlook the possibility of forming a strong trio next year. Anthony Martineau raised this hypothesis, or the idea of seeing Suzuki at the center of this new duo.

Now it remains to be seen how Martin St-Louis will shape his lines, but it's starting to get very interesting.
