Martin St-Louis is facing strong criticism for one of the first times, and reactions are plentiful
However, during the game against the Golden Knights, this did not happen, and there was a flurry of criticism, particularly regarding his management of certain forwards' ice time.
"Jesse Ylonen, who scored 2 even-strength goals tonight, played 7:22 mins (2nd lowest on the team).
Josh Anderson, who's scored 0 goals in 17 games this season, played 16:44 mins (3rd highest among forwards).
Make it make sense."

In defense of St-Louis, Josh Anderson may not be scoring, but that's the only thing he's not doing on the ice. He is very involved and useful nonetheless. However, the point that various analysts and fans are making is that St-Louis misjudges the ice time for players who are having a good night.
"Not all players perform at the same level every night. Sometimes, they have a better night and deserve more ice time. Michel Therrien was a master at spotting this early in the game, and Martin St-Louis needs to learn to recognize it better."
Some are completely outraged by Martin St-Louis's management, especially regarding Jesse Ylonen's playing time in the last game.
"Nobody asked coach Marty in his post game press conference why Jesse Ylonen, a player who scored two goals in one game for a team who can't score fucking goals, wasn't on the ice with a min left & down by a goal. Nobody asked him why Ylonen played 7:22 mins (2nd lowest on team)."
In summary, there's a lot of discussion, but it's important to remember that St-Louis is also in the early stages of his coaching career, learning the profession just like the players. He has made mistakes and will make more, but he will eventually adjust.
