Official: Gary Bettman made a very big announcement concerning the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators

It's now official!

In the past few hours, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has finally approved the sale of the Ottawa Senators to former minority shareholder of the Montreal Canadiens, Michael Andlauer.

The businessman, who owned 10% of the shares in the Canadiens organization, has thus become the new owner of the Ontario team. He had notably been part of the hiring process for Kent Hughes as the general manager of the CH in 2022.

Now owner of the Senators, it's understood that Michael Andlauer will no longer be a member of the Montreal organization.

On that note, according to information reported by Renaud Lavoie, he would have sold his shares (10%) to the current team shareholders. So, there won't be a new investor joining the Montreal Canadiens.
