Shocking scene: a referee gets hit by a player and breaks his arm during the game

It is often said that referees are part of the game and that incidents like blocking pucks can happen.

In a league in Sweden, a player took this statement literally when he outright checked a referee. The referee remained on the ice for a long time, then was transported to the hospital, where it was determined that he had a fractured arm.

The player was not penalized for the hit, and in his defense, he says it was not intentional, even though he had a few disagreements with the referee during the game.

"It's the final of the series and everyone is excited out there, especially me, who likes to play physically. The referee gets in the way, as he did the whole game. I had to stop their player and then the referee got in the way. Then he had to take the hit even though it was not the intention, of course."

Honestly, watching the video, it's hard to believe that the player did it unintentionally. It's quite evident, and the league will have to take action, even though no sanctions have been announced for the player yet.
