Surprise acquisition by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens? Two hosts suggest the idea of signing Marc-André Fleury

Marc-André Fleury is in the final year of his contract, and he hasn't confirmed yet whether he wants to be back next season or not. The goaltender has nothing left to prove, certainly, but he still has the love for the sport in him, which could change the game.

One thing is certain; he wouldn't have any trouble signing a contract anywhere in the NHL. As for Montreal, there has been a heated debate between JiC and Tony Marinaro on this matter.

According to Jean-Charles, there's no doubt that it would be a good thing, provided gets traded or leaves with his free agency this summer.

In either of these cases, Fleury could sign for a year in Montreal and finish his career at home. Fans adore him here, and he would feel comfortable, plus be close to his loved ones.

Personally, I don't think it's going to happen. Regardless of the goaltending situation with the Canadiens by this summer, there will be two good goalies already in place, without taking anything away from Marc-André. Whether it's a tandem of Montembeault and Allen, Primeau and Allen, or Primeau and Montembeault, I don't believe Fleury could fit into the plans, even though I admit the idea of seeing him finish his career with the Habs appeals to me a lot.
