The Montreal Canadiens have just confirmed the signing of their new forward, Alex Newhook, who has signed a four-season deal with an annual salary of $2.9 million. Like Kirby Dach, this contract could become a real bargain for the organization in the coming years!

At only 22 years old, the forward from St. John's has the potential to establish himself as a frontline forward on Martin St-Louis' top-6, and for less than three million until 2026-2027. Kent Hughes continues to accumulate good signings and it's very promising for the future of the club, especially when the contracts signed by Marc Bergevin (Mike Hoffman, Joel Armia, and Christian Dvorak) expire.

By the way, a very intriguing photo of the newcomer surfaced on social media yesterday, where he could be seen in the Tricolore uniform for the very first time. Alex Newhook is still in the United States at the moment, where he continues his summer training in preparation for the next season.

As we can see in the photo, the newcomer to the Canadiens will wear number 15, in 2023-2024, a piece of information that was confirmed by the organization shortly after his signing. We can bet that many fans with Jesperi Kotkaniemi's jersey will want to change the name displayed on the back of their shirt.

One thing's for sure, it will be very interesting to see on which line Alex Newhook will be used next season. We are eager to see him alongside our promising young forwards such as Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach, and Juraj Slafkokvsky.
