It's an extremely busy day in the NHL today. After the monster trade involving the Canadiens, Sharks, and Penguins, defenseman Matt Dumba has signed a one-season contract worth $3.9 million with the Arizona Coyotes.
Matt Dumba, who signed a one-year contract at $3.9M with Arizona, is a two-way defenseman. He likes to carry the puck out of his own zone and into offensive territory, and he's able to create a few scoring opportunities, but he no longer has the impact he had on the game a few seasons ago. - JFresh
Although his offensive production has greatly decreased over recent years, Dumba, who has once reached the 50-point plateau, remains an excellent defenseman in his territory and excels in puck possession. He will certainly be a very interesting addition to the Arizona Coyotes for the upcoming season.
At 29 years old, the former 7th overall pick in 2012 is likely to have much more responsibility, joining a team with very few top-tier defensemen in its lineup. Last season, Matt Dumba recorded a total of 14 points in 79 games with the Minnesota Wild.
