The Canadiens will not keep three goaltenders in Montreal, and one clue is already pointing to the name who will leave.

During yesterday's press conference, Kent Hughes confirmed that the team does not want to keep three goaltenders in Montreal for long.
Management knows very well that it is not ideal. No one named the goaltender who will leave, but the message is clear.
Keeping three goaltenders at the NHL level also takes up a roster spot. On a 23-man roster, every decision carries weight. And when a goaltender is not playing, it's fair to think the team will not keep him around for very long.
Since that press conference, the question has been everywhere around the Canadiens: which of the three goaltenders will eventually leave the Tricolore?
Another signal came when Martin St-Louis called the media before practice.

Jakub Dobes skips his turn and ends up as the third goaltender

"Why did the Canadiens bypass Jakub Dobes and break the "Perfect" three-goalie rotation?"

-Maxime Truman
Even though it was Jakub Dobes' turn to be in net, he ends up being skipped. In a three-goaltender situation, that kind of decision often says a lot. It clearly smells like the third chair, and the Canadiens seem to have made their choice.
Do not be surprised if Dobes eventually leaves Montreal, or if he is sent down to the Laval Rocket. Dobes is 24 years old and just signed a two-year contract. It is a contract that is easy to manage under the salary cap, both in Montreal and in Laval.
"Jacob Fowler faces the Flames (even though it was Jakub Dobes' turn)"
Meanwhile, Jacob Fowler is getting starts, and that quickly changes the conversation. Do the Canadiens really want to keep three goaltenders at the NHL level for long?
We already heard the answer to that in a press conference. Now it's just a matter of when Kent Hughes' next decision will come.
