We know that the Canadiens have too many left-handed defensemen and not enough high-quality forward prospects, with their top forward prospect actually being a 5th-round pick.

Indeed, the Canadiens' top forward prospect is Joshua Roy. I'm not saying he's bad by any means, but compared to the top prospects of other teams, it's like night and day.

A Proposal Involving Kaiden Guhle Surfaces

When we think about left-handed defensemen on the Canadiens who might need to leave, Guhle's name is at the bottom of the list. He's absolutely not on the market unless there's an offer that's impossible to refuse.

That's where a proposal caught our attention. It involves the Ottawa Senators and their GM Steve Staios.

"The latter, being aggressive in improving his team as early as next season, wants to upgrade his defensive corps and wants to get his hands on young defenseman Kaiden Guhle.

In return, he's offering you his first-round pick, the 7th overall in this draft." - HABSolumentFan

With this 7th pick, the Canadiens could select a very solid defenseman like Zeev Buium or Sam Dickinson, for example. It's something to seriously consider.

Personally, I would make this trade. I love Guhle, but he often gets injured, and they're serious injuries, including multiple concussions. Plus, the Canadiens won't be winning in the next two years, so it gives young players a chance to come up.

If he didn't have a tendency to get injured, I would say no. Kaiden Guhle is a talented young player who plays big minutes.
