In the last few minutes, the Canadiens announced a personnel move related to the return of Kaiden Guhle.

Over the past few games, the Montreal Canadiens have found themselves with a surplus of defensemen.
The team had recalled Adam Engstrom before the Holidays, and it can be said that the young defenseman was useful to the Canadiens.
Kaiden Guhle has been making progress on the ice with his teammates. He skated in a regular jersey, a sign that he is getting closer to returning to game action.
On Wednesday, Martin St-Louis indicated that he would not be used against the Calgary Flames, while also speaking about a return that is approaching.
With the return of Kaiden Guhle, the Canadiens had too many defensemen in the lineup, and the team's management made a decision.

The good news is that everything indicates Kaiden Guhle will be back shortly. Since his absence, you can feel that everyone is waiting for the same news: the green light.
What caught attention was the timing around Engstrom. He was seen at practice in the same group as Guhle, then he was assigned to Laval. It sends a simple message: the door is opening, and Montreal wants a defense that is easy to adjust.
When Guhle returns, we can also wonder who will remain in the lineup between Jayden Struble and Arber Xhekaj.
There will certainly be a rotation between the two players over several games.
On Thursday night, the Canadiens host the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre, and the message is clear. If Guhle is not ready, the team will play Xhekaj and Struble.
In short, the defense will be complete for the second half of the season.
