Cole Caufield's number change: Johnny Gaudreau's wife comments and Kevin Hayes too

Last week, it was with great surprise that we learned Cole Caufield changed his number with the Canadiens to 13, in honor of Johnny Gaudreau.

This is a very strong symbolic gesture on his part. For him, Johnny Gaudreau was an idol, a hero. It was clearly important for him to pay this tribute.

Teammates during the last World Championship, Cole Caufield and Johnny Gaudreau spent time together in recent weeks, and he even met many of Gaudreau's friends and his wife, Meredith.

In fact, Kevin Hayes commented on Cole Caufield's post about his number change and the reason behind it.

Johnny Gaudreau's wife also commented on Kevin Hayes' post:

I'm sure Cole Caufield didn't make this gesture to be liked or to gain points with Johnny Hockey's family.

However, it must be nice to see such comments on his post!
