Incredible locker room scene involving Alexandre Texier and Phillip Danault after Flames win
On Wednesday, the Canadiens brought the Bell Centre to its feet.
In a convincing win over the Calgary Flames, Alexandre Texier was everywhere. He scored a goal and also added two assists in the same game.
The Canadiens felt the energy in the building, and it showed quickly.
Texier's goal also carried enormous symbolic value. It was the 100th point of his career, recorded in his 261st NHL game.
Phillip Danault returns to the Bell Centre
On the other side, Phillip Danault experienced an emotionally charged night. For the first time in a little over five years, he made his way back to the Canadiens' locker room at the Bell Centre. His last game in a Canadiens uniform dated back to July 7, 2021, in the Stanley Cup Final.
Since his return to Montreal, Danault was playing his seventh game with the Canadiens. He already has three assists in seven games since the trade, and his most recent one once again sparked plenty of talk. The kind of small contribution that gets noticed, especially when the building is buzzing.
While Texier reached a career milestone, others continued to fill up the scoresheet.
Lane Hutson found the back of the net for his 8th goal, Oliver Kapanen added his 14th, and Cole Caufield pushed his total to 21. That trio of numbers is enough to put a smile on fans' faces.
As for the special scene in the locker room, it fits perfectly with the same vibe of the past few days. During a recent road win, Danault was seen receiving the wolf head as the locker room erupted, along with a message that made everyone laugh. Now, it was his turn to hand it over to Texier!
When things are rocking like that after a win, you can feel just how tight-knit the group is.
