The Montreal Canadiens face the Florida Panthers tonight at the Bell Centre, and we have just obtained a clue about the goaltender chosen by Martin St-Louis.

The Canadiens continue with their three-goalie rotation. Kent Hughes mentioned that it will not last the entire season, but the team was not going to make a decision in the short term.
With the recent performances of Jakub Dobes, Jacob Fowler, and Samuel Montembeault, the situation is becoming increasingly difficult. All three goaltenders are on excellent runs, and the choice is becoming less and less easy.
That said, Martin St-Louis appears to have made his decision for tonight's game.

All signs point to Samuel Montembeault getting the start against the Florida Panthers

"Long session with Éric Raymond for goaltenders Jakub Dobes and Jacob Fowler.

Everything indicates that Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goaltender tonight against the Panthers.

Martin St-Louis will confirm his starting lineup during a media availability with journalists around 4:00 p.m."

In the standings, Montreal comes in with 54 points in 43 games, thanks to a 24-13-6 record. The Canadiens have scored 145 goals and allowed 142.
On the other side, Florida arrives with 47 points in 42 games, a 22-17-3 record, 130 goals scored and 134 goals allowed.
As for Montembeault, he has already shown that he can handle a heavy workload. Last season, he played 62 games and posted a 31-24-7 record with a .902 save percentage and four shutouts.
What stands out is the big picture: Dobes and Fowler remain in the mix, Raymond continues to push them, and St-Louis retains the option to make his decision public at 4:00 p.m.
In short, if Samuel Montembeault delivers another strong performance, Martin St-Louis' decision moving forward will not be an easy one.
