A new update has just dropped about Adam Engstrom, right before his game with the Canadiens, and it really changes how we see his call-up.
Several pieces of information now confirm that the team didn't bring him up just to be a "placeholder." According to what Marco D'Amico explained, the Canadiens want to evaluate their entire defensive group, including Engstrom, to understand what he can offer in the short term.
D'Amico first wrote:
"People have asked me since his recall whether Adam Engstrom is being showcased
I believe the Habs are collecting all the info they can on where their D corps is at, including Engstrom.
If they feel they can move someone else out to make room for him, that's also a real option."
For his part, Engstrom is living a special moment, and you can feel it in his words before his game:
"I'm very excited to play my first game of course. It's a dream come true. I'm really excited for tonightI'm gonna try to go out there, play my best, and still enjoy the moment."
