Patrik Laine Makes Stunning Confession About His NHL Career With the Canadiens
During the last season, Patrik Laine experienced excellent moments with the Canadiens when he returned from his injury, but he almost quit hockey before his stint in Montreal.
Patrik Laine helped the Canadiens reach the playoffs this season by scoring several important goals.
He began his comeback in December, and that was the turning point of the Canadiens' last season.
Upon his return, the power play quickly became a strength of the Canadiens, and the team enjoyed an excellent second half of the season that we all witnessed.
However, the Finnish forward came very close to stopping hockey.
Patrik Laine Almost Quit Hockey
In an interview with a Finnish media outlet, Patrik Laine admitted that he wanted to stop playing hockey.
"I had told the GM and my agents several times that I was done, that I couldn't do it anymore."

"I too had my own problems. I wanted to talk about it to show that it's something common, even in our field. We may be seen as athletes on a pedestal, but we go through the same problems as everyone else."
The good news in his case is that he now seems more determined than ever and wants to work hard.
"Fortunately, I was able to get through that stage. Now I'm enjoying life and hockey again. It feels good to work hard. It took a lot of effort to get here."

Laine had a season with ups and downs, but Montreal seems to have changed him.
In 2024, Laine and his wife Jordan Leigh launched From Us To You, an organization focused on mental health awareness. His own struggles have inspired many, particularly after he opened up through the assistance program.
He wants to be ready for next season, and we are very eager to see him in action.
