La Poche Bleue asked the question: Can Oliver Kapanen solve the Canadiens' second-line center situation?
We know it-this position has been a talking point for a while now. In Montreal, as soon as a center's name comes up, it takes about two minutes before everyone has an opinion. And now, the name Kapanen is coming up in a big way, because the timing is perfect.
"Oliver Kapanen is a coach's dream!"
Oliver Kapanen is a second-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2021, 64th overall. He is a right-shot center, listed at 6 feet 2 inches and 194 pounds. He is 22 years old, born on July 29, 2003, and he arrives with a label that sticks quickly.

In the NHL this season with the Montreal Canadiens, Kapanen has played 44 games. He now has 15 goals and 11 assists, for a total of 26 points. That's solid. At its core, the La Poche Bleue episode mainly shines a harsh light on the CH's need.
Let's not forget that Kent Hughes himself said he believes Oliver Kapanen could be the second-line center.
Kapanen already has an intriguing profile and a pedigree that helps. Now it remains to be seen whether the story will live up to the excitement, or if people are getting carried away a little too quickly.
