The start of the season for the St. Louis Blues is not going at all as planned, and the case of Logan Mailloux just became a very clear example of that.

The 22-year-old former Canadiens defenseman is being sent down to the American League.
"St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have recalled defenseman Hunter Skinner from their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

In addition, the Blues assigned defenseman Logan Mailloux to the Thunderbirds."

The Blues are showing a rough record and are looking for solutions anywhere they can find them.
In these situations, it's often the young players who pay the price.
And this time, it's the former Hab, Logan Mailloux, who finds himself in Springfield.

Logan Mailloux St. Louis Blues American League

Mailloux played nine games this season with the Blues.
He didn't record a point.
But it's mostly his -12 rating that caught attention.
Really not ideal...
"The Blues have finally sent Logan Mailloux to the AHL

He played 9 games for the Blues this season and struggled:
- 0 Goals
- 0 Assists
- 0 Points
- / -12 Plus/Minus"

In that regard, he's among the worst players in the league since the beginning of the season.
He was averaging between 12 and 13 minutes per game, but the Blues seemed to be losing confidence in his five-on-five play.
All of this comes just a few months after his trade for Zachary Bolduc.
And while Mailloux heads back to the American League, Bolduc, meanwhile, is having a pretty solid start to the season with the Canadiens, which makes the comparison even heavier to bear.
Mailloux will therefore go to Springfield with the goal of finding his game again.
A return is possible, but it will require adjustments.
I'm really curious to see how he responds.
