Coach Sheldon Keefe makes a gesture that becomes viral
The Toronto Maple Leafs are once again on the verge of elimination in the first round, trailing 3-1 against the Boston Bruins.
The team's head coach, Sheldon Keefe, is currently playing for his job. He knows very well that the next disappointment could be the end for him.
So, he should have appeared before the media with his head down after his team's loss in the 4th game, but no. He showed up with his head held high and answered questions like a true professional.
Not only did he show composure, he even took the time to welcome back a journalist who had been absent for 4 months due to illness.
"Judge Sheldon Keefe as a coach if u want. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But him taking time after a devastating loss to start his presser by welcoming me back after a 4-month illness absence was classy & appreciated. Thank you for the kind words Coach" - Mike Zeisberger, journalist
Seeing the human side take precedence over defeat and the precarious moment demonstrates how classy Keefe is. This scene has gone viral because it touches people.
Zeisberger is highly regarded in the hockey world, and he was absent for serious reasons. Keefe knew this, and he handled it very well.
