Major trade between the Winnipeg Jets and the Montreal Canadiens: Forward Sean Monahan could be on his way out

Insider Darren Dreger shared a very interesting piece of information last week. According to him, the Canadiens and Sean Monahan have an agreement that predates the signing of his current contract.

Kent Hughes would have committed to trading him before the trade deadline to a contending team or one of his choosing. The Canadiens' GM is a man of his word, so a transaction can genuinely be expected in the coming weeks.

Another insider added fuel to the fire by pointing to a potential team for a trade. According to David Pagnotta, the Jets and the Canadiens are currently in talks.

He also mentioned that the Jets sent two scouts to the Bell Centre for the game between the Habs and the San Jose Sharks. With Mark Scheifele injured, it makes sense, and the team is doing remarkably well this season.

The acquisitions from the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade are greatly benefiting the team, while Dubois is playing on the Kings' fourth line, and things aren't going well for him.

We must keep an eye on Winnipeg in the Monahan situation, but Kent Hughes has no reason to rush a transaction. There's almost two months left before the March 8 deadline, and several offers could be on the table by then.
