After 20 games with his new team, it really seemed like the end for Jonathan Drouin. It was a shame to see how he had the opportunity to play with such talented players without performing up to his potential.
Jo even got demoted to the 4th line and then into the stands. In short, things didn't look good for him.
Jonathan has become a completely different player
For nearly 30 games, Drouin has transformed, becoming one of the most utilized forwards by Jared Bednar, and he is producing at a very high level. Furthermore, his linemate
Nathan MacKinnon is in a hot battle with
Nikita Kucherov for the top spot in league scoring.
He is certainly an important factor in the Avalanche's success, to the point where a contract extension is now being discussed.
In fact, since the beginning of the year, rumors have intensified about a possible contract extension, and Jo has not slowed down. He is currently considered a steal with 28 points in 47 games at only $825,000.
If he continues at the same pace he has been on for the last thirty games, he could even surpass his career-high of 53 points.
We wish him the best! He seems very happy in Colorado, and he is currently exceeding expectations. Keep it up, Jo!
