The NHL is starting to heat up, with two trades occurring in the last few hours and more on the verge of being completed, including one involving Quebec native Pierre-Luc Dubois to Los Angeles.
In order to make room for the forward, the Kings freed up a contract from their salary cap by trading 24-year-old promising defenseman Sean Durzi to the Arizona Coyotes for a second round pick in 2024.
This season, Durzi amassed an impressive 38 points in 72 games, including nine goals, despite limited playing time due to Drew Doughty's presence in the lineup.
In other words, the exchange of the Coyotes for Dvorak has earned them a first-round pick, as well as Durzi who could possibly become a 50 point producer per season.
This trade made by Marc Bergevin is looking worse and worse as time goes on. Not only has Dvorak provided disappointing offensive production to Montreal, but he also comes with a 4.45 million dollar contract valid for two more seasons, making him quite the hot potato for the Canadiens. We don't often applaud the Coyotes, but in this case they have definitely come out on top!
