There were two topics that stirred up a lot of discussion within the Canadiens' circle today. Obviously, the signing of Samuel Montembeault's contract is the most significant news, but there's also been the recall of Mitchell Stephens, which clearly doesn't sit well with everyone.
Indeed, many would have preferred to see Joshua Roy play his first game with the Canadiens, but it won't be this time. Invited to the JiC show, Renaud Lavoie provided the exact reason why the Canadiens overlooked Roy.
According to the journalist, Roy needs to mature a lot. He's a talented hockey player, but he's inconsistent, and he always has been. He needs to learn to be a professional and show up for every game.
Nevertheless, there is still reason to be reassuring in all of this, as it's very possible to learn to be a professional, and the Canadiens are doing what it takes to help him. He has the talent and hockey intelligence, which are much more challenging to learn. Just ask Josh Anderson.
