MAJOR: Sean Monahan will be officially traded, and we have the details
While we continue to wonder whether Sean Monahan is part of the team's future plans or will be traded before the trade deadline, insider Darren Dreger made a striking statement on the matter.
"You got to go back to the off-season when the Canadiens signed Sean Monahan they had an agreement at that point that said we will trade you when the time is right to a contending team or to a team of your choice, nothing has changed there..." - Darren Dreger
According to the insider, this implies that Monahan will definitely be traded. His value might be lower, given the agreement to join a contending team of his choice.
"In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Sean Monahan is amongst the first forwards to get dealt before the deadline."
Kent Hughes is playing his cards well once again, as he previously mentioned that the plan is yet to be determined, and the organization would like to keep him.
