Georges Laraque clearly disagreed with Martin St-Louis' decisions, and he expressed his views earlier on BPM Sports.

In a rather direct and almost aggressive tone, he claimed that the coach doesn't like physical play, which is why Xhekaj was demoted to Laval.

According to Laraque, the Canadiens are trying to change the nature of the colossal defenseman, which highlights his shortcomings because he has to hold back, and he has never played like that. Here's what he had to say:

"Because he (Martin St-Louis) doesn't like it, he doesn't like physical play.

Martin doesn't like it; there are coaches who don't like it... Maybe he doesn't recognize the importance of having physical players in the lineup. He doesn't acknowledge that; it's not the type of player he was. I don't know, but it doesn't make sense! At the very least, if Xhekaj isn't there, Pezzetta should play every game!'

- Georges Laraque

Georges finds it completely illogical that the two physical players, who bring energy to the team, are not playing. The only explanation he has is that Martin doesn't like it and doesn't want physical play in his team.

"In Laraque-Gonzalez, Georges Laraque finds that there is no logic in the fact that the Canadiens don't have physical players in their lineup, with the demotion of Arber Xhekaj and the removal of Michael Pezzetta."
