The Canadiens came very close to winning the Connor Bedard lottery

During last night's events, the NHL released the official details regarding the famous Connor Bedard lottery.

Although the Canadiens were far from winning the second pick, having only one ball out of the four present in the winning combination, they were in the race until the very end for obtaining the first overall pick.

Indeed, the combination of the Blackhawks that allowed them to secure the prodigy Connor Bedard was the following:

4-5-9-13


While the CH had the following combination:

4-5-9-11


It was ultimately the fourth and final ball of the draw that prevented the Blue-White-Red from winning the first pick in the upcoming draft.

Now that the lottery frenzy is over and fans know what to expect leading up to June 28, it's hugely disappointing to see that the Canadiens were so close to acquiring a generational talent in Connor Bedard.

Ouch!
