After a 6-3 loss at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres last night, the Montreal Canadiens rookies bounced back nicely this afternoon, easily winning with a score of 4-1 against the Boston Bruins.

Many of the organization's prospects had a strong game, including Logan Mailloux, who had struggled in the last match. However, it was the Quebecer forward, Joshua Roy, who greatly impressed us once again. His exceptional game vision and intelligence on the ice allowed him to create several scoring opportunities.
He notably scored his second goal of the tournament by releasing a quick shot on a 2-on-1 rush with defenseman Chris Ortiz, bringing the score to 3-1. Additionally, the Tricolore forward set up Jan Mysak's goal early in the second period, ending the game with a tally of one goal and an assist.
He is certainly the Canadiens' prospect who has stood out the most in the rookie tournament so far, thus showing Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens' leaders that he will be closely watched during the real organization training camp. He could possibly surprise everyone and earn a 9-game tryout with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge at the beginning of the year.
«Joshua Roy is such a cunning player on the ice that he does not hesitate to create little feints to give himself time and space to work.» - Scott Matla

One thing is certain, it's very encouraging to see the progress made by the right winger over the past few months, who had amassed an impressive total of 46 goals and 53 assists (99 points) in 56 games with the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
In addition to excelling in offensive territory, we noticed that he has greatly improved his defensive play, doing very well when used by Jean-François Houle in penalty kill situations. Although he is still in a development period, Joshua Roy continues to prove to the management that he will be a top contender to carve out a spot with the main team this year.
