There is a nice trend in hockey, and it is to see family dynasties perpetuate in the NHL. As the saying goes, the apple never falls far from the tree, and when it comes to children of professional players, it is even more true.

Currently in the league, we can think of the Nylander, Domi, and Tkachuk families, to name just a few, who form more than one generation of hockey players.

Another popular family name, especially in Montreal, could follow this trend, as Saku Koivu's son, Aatos Koivu, will be eligible for the next NHL draft in 2024.

At 17 years old, he is a 5-foot-11 center who is currently playing in the Finnish junior league. He has a record of one goal and five points in five games in the under-18 category. He also scored a goal in his only game at a higher level, the U20.

Although he does not have the potential to become a high draft pick, it is very likely that he will still hear his name called in the later rounds.

A next Koivu in the uniform of the Montreal Canadiens?

The son of the former captain of the Tricolore could seriously become a potential acquisition for the organization. While Kent Hughes currently has six picks to make in the last three rounds, he possibly has the necessary ammunition to get his hands on the new generation of Koivu in the NHL.

This could become a very beautiful story for the organization, but also for the fans of the Canadiens.
