For several obvious reasons, number 58 could be highly sought after at the trade deadline, and his return could be just as interesting as the one received for Ben Chiarot.
At least, that's what Marco D'Amico thinks. According to him, Savard could make a return to Columbus because the team is off to a good start with a lot of talent. Adding a veteran of his caliber would be beneficial, especially with Adam Boqvist available.
The 8th overall pick in the 2018 draft is starting to show his full potential in the NHL, but the Blue Jackets have so many good young defensemen that he doesn't seem to be in their plans anymore.
According to D'Amico, one doesn't necessarily have to go with the other. In other words, the Jackets could trade Boqvist to another team and acquire Savard from Montreal, or they could trade Boqvist to Montreal without acquiring Savard.
It's something to keep an eye on, but it's certainly an interesting read.
