In the hockey world, there are so many speculations and trade proposals that it's difficult to make a judgment. One thing is certain, it fuels conversations among enthusiasts, and we love it!

In Montreal, some rumors are wild, but people are generally knowledgeable about the sport. When compared to other fan bases, we can take some consolation.
A page covering the Carolina Hurricanes recently posted an article titled "Conner McDavid traded to Carolina?" Yes, there is indeed a mistake in the name, but it's far from the worst in history.
Some Hurricanes fans have downright embarrassed their team and fan base with completely senseless comments. We all agree that McDavid is the best hockey player in the world. Acquiring him would be a major and very costly move for any organization. Here are two excerpts that will leave you flabbergasted:
"Would Necas and Teravainen be enough (to trade for McDavid)?"

"The Hurricanes wouldn't make that trade. I don't think so. Trading two players for one is probably not the best idea."

"Would Brett Pesce and money and/or future considerations be enough?"

"If the Hurricanes' defensive issues without Pesce are any indication, I don't see them doing it. Pesce is too valuable defensively to trade."

The only thing I want to say is that trading Teravainen, Necas, and Pesce for McDavid would already be a theft in itself. The Oilers would categorically reject this transaction, while some Hurricanes fans think otherwise.
In the end, we're not so bad in Montreal after all!
