Two new young players added by Kent Hughes? That's what is being proposed with the arrival of David Reinbacher and Adam Engstrom

The Canadiens has been rebuilding through the draft for almost three years now, so it's natural that young players are making their way to the NHL and AHL.

In this regard, Marc Antoine Godin has published an interesting article about two European prospects from the club who could join them by the end of the season.

"A similar situation could also arise with David Reinbacher. The Kloten team to which the Canadiens' first pick in 2023 belongs is going nowhere this season, and Reinbacher would probably benefit from joining the Canadiens or the Laval Rocket as soon as possible. Kloten's schedule in the Swiss League A ends on March 4.

There's also a possibility on the side of Adam Engström, a 20-year-old left-handed defenseman playing with Rögle in Sweden. However, the Canadiens must ensure not to overcrowd their defensive corps, either in Montreal or with the Laval Rocket next season, with too many young players they cannot accommodate."

There are already too many defensemen in the organization, whether in Montreal or Laval. Kent Hughes has important decisions to make, targeting which players are part of the future and which ones might be sacrificed.

Again, it's understandable to be patient. Few believed Jayden Struble could secure a spot with the Canadiens, and yet, there he is, playing very well. It's a good problem for the GM and his team, that's for sure.
