The Canadiens and the Stars face off tonight in a matchup between two teams playing good hockey, each arriving with something to prove.

The Canadiens will head into the Bell Centre with a very clear objective: bounce back tonight.
In fact, the Habs are going through a short, tougher stretch, with three losses in their last four games, which puts a bit of pressure on Martin St. Louis' group.
And tonight, the opponent won't be easy.

The topic of Dallas's backup goalie changes the dynamic

Renaud Lavoie confirmed that it won't be Jake Oettinger in net for the Stars, but rather the backup, Casey DeSmith.
For the Canadiens, this isn't a minor detail. It could help!
"Casey DeSmith vs Canadiens" - Renaud Lavoie
Against a team like Dallas, let's be honest, every detail counts...
Their number-one goalie, Jake Oettinger, remains one of the most solid goalies in the league, in my opinion.
With seven wins and a 2.89 goals-against average, he's playing high-level hockey again this year.
On the other side, DeSmith is doing well with a 2.73 average, but it's obvious the Stars are still a bit less stable without Oettinger.
Sometimes, that kind of detail changes everything, even when you don't expect it.
It's going to be a key game for the Habs!
And with the tribute to Danièle Sauvageau and François Gagnon at the Bell Centre before the game, I believe there will be great energy in the arena.
Jakub Dobes starts in net for the Habs. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight!
