The predicted lineup of the Montreal Canadiens released by Anthony Martineau of TVA Sports is already drawing a lot of attention.

And many are wondering whether Patrik Laine and Ivan Demidov will be used together or separately, a choice that could directly influence the team's success and, most importantly, that of the young Russian.
Martineau presented a combination that focuses on balanced lines and does not put Laine with Demidov, a decision that surprises and goes against what we have seen in recent weeks.
From my perspective, I see this as a way to protect the Russian's talent.
Others believe this is simply a temporary test to start the season.

Why the projected Montreal Canadiens lineup separates Patrik Laine and Ivan Demidov

"Final formation for the CH, if I were the coach. There are some surprises, but I'll explain everything to you." - Anthony Martineau
By placing Demidov with Alex Newhook and Bolduc, I think the Canadiens are giving him partners capable of keeping up with his pace.
Laine, for his part, is relegated to the third line, which reduces the risk that his lack of speed becomes a problem.
In my opinion, putting Laine on the 3rd line may seem harsh for Laine, but it promotes optimal development for Demidov.
I would really like these lines, because I think Demidov deserves a real chance without being slowed down by a veteran.
In my view, Martineau was right in presenting this lineup.
