The Montreal Canadiens find themselves in a delicate situation, as one of their top prospects Sean Farell is at risk of being claimed off waivers.
Earlier today, Sean Farrell was placed on waivers. The chances of him securing a spot with the Laval Rocket and remaining with the Canadiens organization seem slim.
The competition this camp has been fierce with players like Joe Veleno, Samuel Blais, Oliver Kapanen, and Owen Beck who, in my opinion, are already ahead in the forward depth chart.

It's a harsh reality as Farell was inevitably placed on waivers.
Farrell, an offensive player who has already shown impressive skills this year, risks being claimed by another team. I really think another team in the league could claim him quickly.
In my opinion, he is an ideal target for a team looking for depth.
With the Canadiens, the fight for the final forward spots is very fierce.
For fans, the danger of seeing another prospect slip away from the Canadiens due to the limited number of roster spots is very real. It would not be the first time this has happened in Montreal. The name Darren Langdon comes to mind, who had a long career following a waiver claim.
I personally believe it would be a regrettable loss, as Farrell still has the potential to surprise in the medium term.
