Trois-Rivières, July 23, 2024 – Cedric Montminy, the first captain in the history of the Trois-Rivières Lions, announces his retirement from professional hockey.
The adopted Trifluvian joined the Lions before the team's inaugural season in 2021-2022 and was named captain by the management at the time. "Montmin" held this title until the end of last season, his third with the Lions and his sixth in the ECHL.
In 205 games wearing the Lions' uniform, Captain Montminy accumulated 64 goals and 64 assists for a total of 128 points. Last season, he also scored his 100th professional goal.
The player wishes to thank the fans in the Mauricie region for the last 3 years of his professional career: "The support and recognition will forever be engraved in my memory."
