Over the past few days, Bo Horvat's name has come up again in discussions surrounding the Montreal Canadiens.
It all started with comments from analyst Eric Macramalla, who stated on X that the New York Islanders forward would be a perfect fit for the club.
Horvat really matches what Kent Hughes is looking for. He's a reliable left-handed center, strong in the faceoff circle, works hard on every shift, and can also contribute offensively on a consistent basis.

Bo Horvat would be a perfect fit with the Montreal Canadiens
Last season, Horvat once again proved how consistent he is. In 81 games, he collected 57 points, including 28 goals.
I truly think he's a responsible, complete, and dependable player. In my opinion, he could fill the bumper role on the power play very well, similar to how Zachary Bolduc excels at it.
As for his contract, Horvat is signed with the New York Islanders through 2031, with an annual salary of $8.5 million. That's definitely quite the price tag...
That amount would place him among the highest-paid players on the Canadiens.
The Islanders would likely ask for draft picks or a promising young prospect in return. Personally, don't think a trade for Patrik Laine would get it done... and many fans seem to agree.
What makes this all interesting is the relationship between the two organizations.
Kent Hughes and Mathieu Darche already worked together this summer to complete the trade that brought Noah Dobson to Montreal.
So, if discussions about Horvat ever begin, the line of communication is already open between the two sides.
