Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have selected Ivan Demidov, and he is being compared to a former 115-point scorer, according to Eric Bélanger.

On Friday, Bélanger, the former coach of the Trois-Rivières Lions, mentioned on BPM Sports that the Canadiens' young prospect reminds him of Jonathan Huberdeau during his time with the Florida Panthers.
Huberdeau, a 3rd overall pick, had seasons of 92 and 115 points, showcasing exceptional skills, although he has faced challenges since joining Calgary.
Bélanger notes that Ivan Demidov uses his body well to protect the puck but is even more tenacious than Jonathan Huberdeau. Imagine!
If the Canadiens truly have a Jonathan Huberdeau at his best, it would be the best offensive acquisition for the organization in the past 30 years.
Moreover, Demidov led his KHL team to a victory in a shootout on Thursday night. Remember, he earned 60 points in just 30 games in the MHL last year, which is phenomenal at 17 years old.
