Jayden Struble's value is reportedly very high, which is surprising
According to some analysts, Jayden Struble's value is even higher than Logan Mailloux's on the trade market.
These are always very surprising statements because Mailloux is a much more offensive defenseman and, importantly, a right-handed shot.
Unfortunately, Mailloux's past has caused his value to drop, but it's not the only reason Struble's value might be higher.
Jayden is a very solid, mobile, and athletic defensive defenseman. It's currently a trend in the NHL to have a defenseman like this, especially for the playoffs.
In this sense, former player agent David Ettedgui has proposed a trade between the Canadiens and the Devils.
Indeed, he says that Jayden Struble would be almost enough to acquire the next Alex Newhook, and he is targeting Alexander Holtz from New Jersey.
"Struble is good, but his value is higher than one might think," says Ettedgui. He assures that Struble's name is circulating and that he is held in very high esteem by several teams.
The Devils have a glaring need for toughness in all positions. Struble would provide them with that on defense.
