Phillip Danault will not be in uniform Saturday or Sunday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

According to what is being reported, the plan is not for him to suit up this weekend against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Renaud Lavoie initially indicated there was a possibility of him playing Sunday in Pittsburgh, but that is no longer the plan.
The expectation is rather that he will be in uniform Tuesday, when the Boston Bruins arrive in Montreal.
The timing makes sense, because the trade was completed late Friday, and the Los Angeles Kings did not retain any portion of salary.
The Montreal Canadiens therefore added a significant cap hit. In return, Los Angeles received a 2026 second-round pick, a price that says a lot about how the player is valued.

Kent Hughes reveals when he will join his teammates

Here is the confirmation:
"GM Kent Hughes says Phillip Danault will likely join the Habs in Boston next week."

"Kent Hughes addresses the media live at the Bell Centre following Phillip Danault's trade to Montreal"

- Montreal Canadiens
In the immediate term, the Canadiens enter tonight's game with 40 points and a record of 18-12-4 through 34 games. The Penguins follow with 37 points and a 14-10-9 record in 33 games.
On the ice, Danault will arrive in Boston with simple numbers to summarize: he has five points in 30 games this season, with a +3 rating.
One thing is certain: when a Quebec-born player returns to Montreal, the Bell Centre reacts. Expect a charged atmosphere when he steps onto home ice again.
