I think Kahkonen represents a special case.
The goaltender still has the potential to help an NHL team, and he is naturally attracting attention from several clubs looking for depth in net.
However, he does not yet have a spot in Montreal's roster.
The bad news is that if the Canadiens want to send him to Laval, he will also have to pass through waivers, which opens the door to a possible departure.
Whatever happens, this will be the last major suspense of the camp regarding waivers, and the answer should come very soon.
