On this Wednesday morning, the Canadiens decided to surprise everyone by announcing a signing, but not at the player level.
"RALEIGH � Montreal Canadiens executive vice president of hockey operations, Jeff Gorton, announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with assistant general manager, John Sedgwick.
