On this Wednesday morning, the Canadiens decided to surprise everyone by announcing a signing, but not at the player level."RALEIGH – Montreal Canadiens executive vice president of hockey operations, Jeff Gorton, announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with assistant general manager, John Sedgwick. In addition to his duties with the Canadiens, Sedgwick is named general manager of the AHL's Laval Rocket." - Montreal Canadiens
This means that Kent Hughes can now focus solely on the Canadiens, leaving the American Hockey League aspect to his assistant.
