We finally learned of Martin St-Louis's grand return to the Canadiens on Monday. For the occasion, Chantal Machabée didn't miss her chance to salute him on social media.

It's typical of Chantal, who makes a point of highlighting the positive when it happens.

The coach and the Canadiens joined forces to issue an emotionally charged statement. Indeed, Martin was at his son's bedside, and he asked fans and media members to kindly focus on the remainder of the season.

«We appreciate the Canadiens organization, our fans, and the hockey community for understanding and supporting us through Mason's injury and recovery. I would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses that cared for him during this time. I'd also like to thank everyone for respecting my family and our privacy, and I ask to please maintain a focus on the Canadiens team and the remainder of the 2023-24 season.»

We can say that the message is quite clear. Martin wishes to stop talking about this story now and resume talking about hockey.

The portion of the message from the Canadiens really gives all the necessary information. Let's just say that Chantal Machabée is surely not a stranger to this.

"Mason St-Louis, 16, is the youngest of Martin and Heather's three sons. He suffered an injury while playing in a game for U15 Mid-Fairfield (Connecticut). A week later, Mason suffered complications from the injury and was hospitalized. His condition has since stabilized, and he is now recovering at the family home in Connecticut."

In any case, we salute the transparency and courage of the St-Louis family. We can now turn the page and focus on the end of the season.

The team still has a lot of hockey to play, and it's important to set the stage for the next campaign. Kirby Dach could even make a return to the game, as he has been injured since the 2nd game of the season.
