Montreal Canadiens Prospect Michael Hage is Having a Standout Offseason, Focusing on NHL Readiness

Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael Hage is currently having an excellent offseason as he prepares to make the jump to the NHL for the 2026-27 season.
Since being drafted by the Canadiens, we've heard many positive things about the young forward.
He had a strong season with the Michigan Wolverines, recording 34 points in 33 games in his first year with the team.
Hage also showcased his talent at the World Junior Showcase in recent days.
He will likely have the chance to represent Canada at the next World Junior Championship, and fans are eager to see him in high-level competition.
However, the forward is getting ready for next season for a very specific reason.

Michael Hage's Incredible Physical Transformation

Hage recently surpassed 200 pounds and is a dedicated gym-goer.
In an interview with TVA Sports, he shared what he's doing this summer:
"As soon as the season ended, we were in the gym until the end of June, right up to the [Habs] development camp."

"I'm in the gym five times a week and on the ice three or four times a week. The rest of the time, I play golf."

He also emphasized the importance of nutrition:
"The biggest change has been with nutrition," the young forward revealed. "It's so important. You can train as much as you want, but the results will be minimal if your diet doesn't follow."

He added that he trains five times a week and hits the ice three to four times weekly.
As soon as his season ended in March, Michael Hage started lifting weights five times a week, so much so that he now weighs 200 lb.

But the biggest adjustment he made was far from the dumbbells.
His dedication and mindset are impressive, and it's likely one reason Kent Hughes doesn't want to trade him.
We'll be following his progress closely and hope he can make a meaningful impact with the Canadiens in the coming years.
