The Montreal Canadiens have just landed at 14th place in the NHL Super 16 Power Rankings on NHL.com.

And already some observers are saying that the famous word "rebuild" now belongs to the past, implying that the team is ready to aim for a playoff spot this season.
This ranking, published on the league's official site, is somewhat surprising.
After several years of transition, seeing Montreal placed in the middle of the pack changes the perception a bit.
But above all, it's the words used that stand out.

Montreal Canadiens Considered Ready to Compete for the Playoffs

In the text available on NHL.com, one can read:
"The word 'rebuild' is now a thing from the past in Montreal. They are now ready to push for another playoff appearance. The Canadiens would like to prove that last spring was not a fluke.

- Jean-Francois Chaumont, NHL.com

That's a strong statement.
When you think that the Habs finished near the bottom not so long ago, it clearly shows that the perception around the team is changing.
And it puts a certain amount of pressure on the shoulders of Nick Suzuki and the other leaders.
This is no longer just a team developing its young players-it's a club that wants to win now.
With players like Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson, and Juraj Slafkovsky, the future looks bright.
But to turn this potential into a true playoff team, everyone will need to contribute.
I believe this kind of ranking is not just a prediction; it's also a credibility test.
Montreal must prove that the word "rebuild: no longer sticks to them.

Do you think the Canadiens will confirm that the 'rebuild' is over this season?
