As the 2025-26 season quickly approaches, the future looks bright for the Montreal Canadiens, fueled by a pool of young talent in constant progression.

Earlier, NHL.com experts ranked the top five Montreal Canadiens players by points. Now, they've released the organization's top prospect rankings.
Here's a look at the organization's top five prospects, ranked by their potential according to NHL.com, the official NHL website. While many expected to see Alexander Zharovsky-the 34th overall pick in the most recent draft-make the list, it is instead a center who played a few games in Montreal this year who takes the fifth spot in this top five.

1. Ivan Demidov - Right Wing

The jewel of Montreal's future. Selected 5th overall in the 2024 draft, Demidov dazzled in the KHL with his electrifying play and offensive creativity.
With exceptional puck-handling skills and a natural scoring touch, he is expected to make his debut in Montreal as early as this season. He represents the franchise-type player the Canadiens have long been waiting for.

2. David Reinbacher - Right Defenseman

The Canadiens' 2023 first-round pick, Reinbacher has continued to progress with confidence. Solid in all zones, he combines size, mobility, and hockey IQ.
After a convincing stint in Laval and a few games with the big club, he's ready to take on a regular role on the Canadiens' blue line. He could become a defensive cornerstone for years to come.

3. Michael Hage - Center

A first-round pick in 2024, Hage has established himself as one of the most dynamic centers of his class.
Agile, defensively responsible, and equipped with excellent vision, he shined in the NCAA. His development is on track, and while he isn't expected in Montreal immediately, his top-six potential is undeniable.

4. Jacob Fowler - Goaltender

Fowler turned many heads in U.S. college hockey. Calm, technically sound, and extremely competitive, he is considered the organization's goalie of the future.
He will continue his development this season but could be lacing up for Montreal within a year or two.

5. Owen Beck - Center

Beck continues to progress slowly but surely. Known for his responsible play, strong work ethic, and faceoff skills, he projects as an excellent third-line center with defensive responsibilities while still contributing offensively.
The future looks bright at the Bell Centre.
