Samuel Montembeault, usually calm and focused, showed a much more fiery side of his personality during the Montreal Canadiens' practice.
The atmosphere was far from relaxed in Brossard this morning
According to several journalists present, the Quebec-born goaltender lost his patience a few times after allowing goals he probably should have stopped!
Samuel Montembeault lets out his frustration in Brossard
Whether it's in a game or at practice, he always holds himself to the same standard.
"Monty is not satisfied with his job and we know it. It shows when we see him being a bit frustrated after conceding a goal in training.
A lot of solo work this morning for the goalkeeper. Him or Dobes tomorrow against the Flyers?"
- Marc-Olivier Cook
St-Louis will soon have to make an important decision before tomorrow's game: who will be in net Tuesday night against the Flyers?
Right now, the numbers speak for themselves...
Dobes has a goals-against average of 1.97 and a save percentage of .930, while Samuel Montembeault sits around 3.66 and .839.
In my opinion, Dobes deserves to get the start on Tuesday-especially knowing he's had several days of rest since his last game.
I think the timing is perfect to let the young goaltender keep his momentum going and continue building his confidence.
