Jake Allen is in the Canadiens' net for the Saturday afternoon duel against the Devils in New Jersey. It's not a coincidence, as the home team is in need of a goaltender, and Allen has been linked to them in numerous rumors.
Indeed, a strong performance by the goaltender would provide arguments for Kent Hughes, but after two periods and two goals on 14 shots, it's not very convincing.
However, his opponent, Nico Daws, isn't doing much better, and Nick Suzuki's goal is a good example of that. It must be acknowledged that it's a good shot from the captain, but as Marc Denis mentioned later, an NHL goaltender must make that save, and it's been the story of the season for the Devils.
Nick Suzuki, by scoring this goal, has added some more grey hairs to the Devils' GM, who absolutely must find a solution to help his team make the playoffs, as they were perceived as a potential contender this year.
