According to many sources, Jakub Dobes has become the first rookie in history to start two consecutive seasons with a perfect 5-0-0 record, all while still maintaining his rookie status.

I think it's such an exceptional accomplishment that shows just how much his talent - and especially his consistency - are impressing everyone in Montreal.

Of course, last year he had already surprised the hockey world by winning his first five NHL starts.

"There has never been a rookie who started two straight seasons with five perfect wins. It's never been seen before," reported Samuel Doiron.
In my opinion, since the start of the season under Martin St-Louis' leadership, the Canadiens have been playing inspired hockey.
The team currently sits atop the Atlantic Division - something we haven't seen in a very long time.
As for Dobes, he's playing like a veteran. He never panics, and his teammates feel it.
The season may just be getting started, but one thing is clear: Dobes is no longer just a pleasant surprise - he wants to become the number-one goaltender.
